“Can We Go Back” was the last experiment to be done and not really intended for this project. I was playing around with looping guitar and vocals, creating my own personal choir, and trying to not write about love, but rather friendship. I thought of my best friend (rather sister) and all of the places and moments we’d shared in the past. I still sent it to my ex, though. But I believe this song could be about any kind of relation/situation. It’s a bittersweet drifter and I think it could take you to wherever you feel some sort of affection or melancholy.
lyrics
Have I seen you
Truthfully and through
Don’t let me decide
Who I choose when it’s you
We used to be both and the same
You’d give me your hand and I’d give you my name
We ran to the shore and remained
Not knowing the rules of the game
