This was the first song that I had produced myself and felt confidently okay with. The lyrics feel a bit superficial compared to what I’ve later written, but I still admire the song as a whole. It’s a banger. It feels very hopeful musically. It was also one of the first songs that I let Andrew Baardsen put his co-producing hands on - it looked hot before, but he gave it a facelift. “Tokyo Garden” is supposedly a Japanese Aesthetics Clinic in Singapore - but I didn’t know this at the time of writing the song.
lyrics
Tokyo Garden, don’t know much about it
But I wanna go there with you
Tokyo Garden, I can feel you harden
But please let me help you come through
Won’t let you down I will pick you right up
Back to the start there’s no other than us
Post codes and time zones, they don’t mean a thing
This is an all seasonal lasting thing
Take my hand let’s go, far away from home
We don’t need the known, when we have our own
